Automotion is Coming

Automotion is coming.

It's that time of the year again. Automotion 2016 is an automotive weekend most look forward to months in advance. As we get closer, we thought i'd be a good idea to give you some tips and tricks to making your weekend the most enjoyable it can be. Some of this sounds like common sense, but in all honesty we all need a little wake up call on occasion.

1.) Alcohol and driving do NOT mix. Automotion has floated between a car show and a drinking festival. While there's nothing wrong with having a few, avoid driving drunk at all costs. Cops thrive off this weekend and try their hardest to make sure the streets stay clean. If you're going to drink, don't get in a car.

2.) If your car overheats, do not go down the strip. It should be pretty self explanatory, but there are a lot of individuals who have rushed to get their vehicles at Automotion. Because of that, they haven't fully prepped their car for long haul drives. This results in things overheating, breaking, and generally not working.  Sitting idle for two hours on the main strip can be hell if your car can't handle it.

3.) If you vandalize or steal things, fuck you. Seriously, this event is on a very fine line of being shut down nearly every year. Vandalizing, theft, arson, property damage, and public intoxication is not cool. This weekend should be about cars and having fun, not damaging people's pride and joy. This also goes for hotel rooms and resorts. Last year people were doing burnouts on their motorcycles in elevators. If you don't think an event like Automotion can get shut down, just take a look at Sowo.

4.) Respect car show's and those who are running them. Automotion (the show), Wisconsin Modified, BoTi, and many other shows put in tons of hours to make their events fun. Doing burnouts, starting fights, vandalizing property and being an overall douche is not cool. This is a great opportunity to support your local car scene. By supporting these local clubs that setup these events, you kick start the community and help everyone make more events in the future.

5.) Have fun! Seriously, so many people get so tied up with the drama that follows Automotion. They end up having no fun the entire time because they are worrying about every tiny thing. There will be some stupid people, but there will also be a ton of awesome enthusiasts. Spend time with new people, say hi, talk about cars, and stay hydrated.

Don't forget, Wisconsin Modified 2016 is on May 21, 2016 from 1-5pm at Wintergreen Resort in Wisconsin Dells! We also recommend checking out Battle of the Imports earlier in the morning if you manage to shake off that Friday night hangover.
